The Electric Crayon is a three-man tattoo circus that started here in Sioux Falls in late February, 2008.
Mark and Erin, the resident tattoo artists, have been in the industry since 2002 and 2003, respectively. A diverse portfolio is available in the shop and online for both artists, covering small to large works, as well as black and gray and full color pieces. They enjoy doing custom pieces and will also work with any ideas brought to them.
Dan is the shop's body piercer, and has been professionally piercing since 2000, getting started in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is constantly working to improve professional piercing standards in South Dakota while maintaining a high standard of customer service and respect for the art.
The Electric Crayon uses hospital-quality sterilization procedures, and all needles used for tattooing and piercing are single-use only. Only high-quality body jewelry is used for piercing, and all tattoo and piercing procedures are followed up with industrial grade disinfectants. Every health department inspection since opening in 2008 has received the highest marks, and the Electric Crayon is an active and accredited member of the Better Business Bureau.
